Volunteer for FREE STARS Training
We are offering FREE STARS on the Go packets to those who help price, set up, sell and clean up at our fundraiser rummage sale. For every two hours spent volunteering, we’ll give you a scholarship for one hour of study-at-home training. To sign up, email Melissa at ETP.




Head’s Up Reading - offered online
Do you need to renew your CDA? Do you want to take a class in the comfort of your own home? ETP and Puget Sound Educational Service District is collaborating to offer this 3-credit literacy class starting on August 15th. There will be a face-to-face orientation to help you get started. The cost of registration is $240. There are only 10 spaces available, so email ETP to register now!

STARS on the Go! (training at home)
These correspondence classes continue to be the hottest thing in town! If you or your program is in need of general STARS training, the basic 20-hour or the 10-hour continuing education, consider studying at home. Choose your own area of study from a long list of topics.

ETP is holding a rummage sale on August 11th and 12th from 8 am -5pm on both days! All proceeds will go towards ETP scholarships! There are many ways to use rummage sale items in your program but remember to always ensure safety by checking the consumer product safety commission Web site at: http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prerel.html

Some of the items you’ll find at the sale are:

Clothes: Add diversity to your dress up center by purchasing both male and females clothes. Remember that infant and toddler love purses and hats!

Toys: There are plenty of nearly new toys to replenish your stock! Board games are a school age favorite. Balls, hoops and other outdoor equipment is always a good choice. Trucks, soft animals, puzzles and more can be found here and will help you with rotation of toys in your classroom

Books: There is a large variety of books that capture the interest of all ages, including adults.  You can never have to many if you want to raise strong readers!

Kitchenware: Having enough serving utensils and dinnerware helps you implement the self-serve, family style meals that are so important. Whether you are starting from scratch or just searching for that needed item, there are plenty of options available for you to choose from.

Home furnishings: Warm up your environment by adding window treatments, fish tanks, a rug or big comfy pillows. You can create a homelike and interesting space by adding items found here.

Appliances: This rummage sale is a great place to find appliances to replace your old ones. Do you need a washer or dryer? How about a computer and desk? They are all here for you!

Tools: Your maintenance person will love this sale! There will be a variety of tools to delight the senses. What needs to be fixed? Chances are we have just what you need to fix it!



ETP leadership in new role with WAEYC

ETP’s Executive Director is the new Vice President for Washington Association for the Education of Young Children

Thanks to all your support and votes, Amber Havens is now the new Vice President for WAEYC! Building bridges among statewide members and WAEYC is one of her goals. To better serve the members, she believes that listening to their needs and identifying ways in which WAEYC can support them is critical.
