Learners First: A Servant Leadership Approach - by Tracy Flynn, MEd Tracy Flynn Consulting
Explore leadership from a presenter's perspective, including the privileges and responsibilities of standing in the front of the room. This session will provide an introduction to leadership, based on the work of the Greenleaf Center and the classic essay, The Servant Leader by Robert K. Greenleaf. We will review characteristics of effective leadership such as how to put the participants first, caring, humility and honesty. We'll also explore what it means to develop your own philosophy of leadership, and how these characteristics and skills can apply to your work as an authentic trainer.
We will take time after lunch to discuss the morning presentation through facilitated discussion sessions. Facilitators will help participants reflect on the presentation and share ideas regarding what barriers may exists for implementing the topics into their work, what resources will they need for successful transference and will help create goals to employ the idea of leadership into their roles as adult educators. |
